Step-by-step: Share files with clients in Billdr Pro
Open the project’s Files tab
From your dashboard, click the project name.
Select Files on the top navigation bar. You’ll see default folders—Expenses, Invoices, Quotes, plus a special folder called Shared with Client.
Share a document with the client
Inside Shared with Client, click Add File.
Drag-and-drop (or browse for) the file you want to share.
The document appears instantly in that folder and on your client’s portal.
Your client does not receive a notification when a file is added. You will need to inform them by sending an email or text message.
Receive a document from the client
Your client can drop a file into the same Shared with Client folder on their side.
Refresh the Files tab and you’ll see their upload in real time.
You do not receive a notification when a file is added by your client. They will need to inform you by sending an email or text message.
Create new folders (optional)
Click New Folder, name it, and press Save.
Use folders to separate plans, permits, photos, or any custom grouping you prefer.
Move files or folders
Check the box beside one or more items.
Click Move, then choose the destination folder to keep everything organized.
Share multiple documents at once
Single files: tick the file(s) you want, choose Share, and copy the generated live link.
Entire folder: tick the folder, hit Share, and send that link instead.
Anyone with the link sees an always-up-to-date view—changes you make after sharing (edits, deletions, new uploads) appear automatically.
Share files with your employees
Toggle Yes in the Shared with employees column.
Your employee does not receive a notification. You will need to inform them by sending an email or text message.
