Basic settings

This guide walks you through how to configure your basic settings so your account is ready to use.

Settings Overview

You can open your Settings from the left-side menu.

Business

In the Business Information tab, you can:

  • Set your business name and contact information

  • Add your licenses and insurance details (these can be displayed to clients)

  • Connect your bank account via Stripe

  • Find your email forwarding address for expenses or bills

  • Set your schedule holidays


Branding

In the Branding section, you can:

  • Add your logo

  • Choose how your documents look (colors, logo position, etc.)


Personal Information

In the Personal Information tab, you can:

  • Confirm that your personal or account owner information is correct

This information is used in quotes and all other documents.


Project Settings

In the Project Settings tab, you can:

  • Define your default terms and conditions for quotes

    • We recommend generating them from our template if you don’t already have any

    • Only one template version is available at this time

  • Define your default payment terms

  • Define your default quote validity period

  • Define your taxes

  • Define the default project owner


Default Email

In the Default Email tab, you can:

  • Update the default message content for each document type

  • Use smart tags (dynamic values such as the client’s name)


Team & Logs

In this section, you can:

  • Define which projects your employees can view:

    • All projects, or

    • Only projects with a signed quote (In Construction)

  • Define the daily log questions


App Integrations

In the App Integration tab, you can:

  • Connect your QuickBooks account

Note: Billdr currently integrates only with QuickBooks Online.


Final Check

Don’t forget to click Save in each tab or section.
The default settings are usually sufficient for new resources or projects.

If you’ve already created projects, any changes to default settings will apply only to new projects or resources, not existing ones.
